We are Hindu Religious charity built a very big temple in London for the Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and Lord Sri Narayanar with an investment of £5.5.million. The devotees visit the temple from all over the UK, Europe and also from all over the world. The temple is also having Sri Hanuman and number of other deities. Indian pipe (Nadhaswaram) music are played during the pooja, homam, abhishekam to the deities to make the devotees more involved in the prayers. It is a divine nature of the music as called mangala isai and it is very traditional to have in the hindu temple.
Responsibilities and Duties
Nadhaswaram musician should play the music during all pooja, homam and abhishekam times morning, afternoon and evening. They should assist the priests by playing the music and it is purely religious and co-ordination between the priests is very important. Needs to perform during thirukkalyanam, which happens minimum of 20 times a year, and also srinivasa thirukkalyanam, which happens once a year, and also perform on chariot festival procession outside the temple once in year.
Qualifications and Skills
The nadhaswaram musician must know how to play in the temple during various types of pooja and all these include various devotional songs with various ragas. They should be a qualified person to perform this mangala isai.
