About us:
Lakshmi Narayana Trust is a Hindu Religious charity that runs a very big temple (Sri Mahalakshmi Temple) in London for the Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and Lord Sri Narayanar. The devotees visit the temple from all over the UK, Europe and also from all over the world. The temple is also having Sri Hanuman and number of other deities. The Temple provides free food (annadhanam/prasadham) to the devotees in the afternoon and evening and we offer neivedhyam to the deities three times a day.
Remuneration:
The candidate will be paid annual salary of £17,000.00 for 40 hours of work per week. We comply with the National Minimum Wage regulations and we also provide holiday pay and other benefits according to the laws of UK.
Job Description:
We urgently need a Temple Madappalli Priest to prepare annadhanam, prasadham and neivedhyam in a traditional way to offer to the Gods and also to the devotees and staff.
The Temple Madappalli Priest is important for the Hindu temple as food is prepared in a religious way and madappalli
priests are qualified in a spiritual manner to prepare the annadhanam, prasadham and neivedhyam. The Temple Madappalli Priests
will be in charge of the temple’s kitchen. Temple Madappalli priest is required to prepare Neivedhyam Prasadham to the deities
in the morning, afternoon and evening and also cook strictly vegetarian food/prasadham to the devotees and staff. The Temple Madappalli
priest should render help to the Senior Priests on very important religious pooja services performed in the temple.
Temple Madappalli priest should manage and maintain the kitchen and ensure that everything is kept tidy and also adhere to food,
health and safety rules.
Temple Madappalli priest is required to assist with kitchen duties commensurate with their role and help in cleaning all utensils
for cooking and also help in serving food to the devotees according to Hindu religious rules.
Qualification and Skills:
Candidates should affirm their faith as a Hindu as the job role involves assisting in worshipping and performing Poojas
for the Hindu Gods and the preparation of the food in a traditional way and offering to the deities and devotees.
Candidates should have sufficient training and experience under a senior madappalli priest. Candidates should be
willing to accept both Saiva and Vaishnava faith of Hinduism as the Temple is having both deities. Candidates are
expected to be more spiritual and godly and obtained and learnt mantras and customary way of worshipping the God
traditionally from the Senior Priests of Temples. Candidates are expected to consider this role as a service to
God.
At least three years’ training and experience in a similar role is essential.
